Influenced by an uncle who was an executive at an insurance company, Rich first decided he wanted a career in the insurance industry when he was a teenager. While earning his bachelor's degree at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind., he focused on finance with a concentration in insurance. His career includes more than 25 years with world-class insurance companies in management and senior-level positions. 

While Rich has enjoyed an extremely fulfilling career, he's always wanted to own his own business. By opening Brightway, The Saltzman Agency, he is able to put his extensive experience to work where it counts, in the community where he lives. In 2017, Rich grew his business by purchasing a second agency in Largo.

Rich and his wife, Mary, have been married for over 25 years. Rich is also a professional drummer who has played with bands that have opened for a variety of national acts.
