Fresh off her hotly-contested 2022 election win, most know Georgetown’s Andrea Dodson as the Black Oak Mine Unified School District’s newest board member. However, just three weeks removed from her victory at El Dorado County ballot boxes, it’s a new vote the long-time realtor is courting in her home county.

Now nearly two centuries since the gold rush that gave El Dorado County its name, there’s a new venture the 43-year-old businesswoman is launching Monday that has things looking even “Brighter.” Dodson officially opens Brightway, The Andrea Dodson Agency insurance office in Lotus next week.

“Being involved takes real effort every day. From the school board to the business sector, it takes commitment to make an impact in the Gold Country,” Dodson said. “At the schools, when the parents get involved, the outcomes are usually much better. Much of the same applies to business. It comes down to doing what you can to help others.” Married for 16 years, Dodson and her husband, Jim, have two children enrolled in El Dorado County Schools.

The Simi Valley, California native moved north to El Dorado County 17 years ago after graduating from the Brooks Institute with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Journalism. Dodson has two decades of realty and business management experience, including the past six years as the head of her own Keller Williams Realty office in Lotus. Dodson is an active member of the Placer County, California and National Association of Realtors.

“Doing business here requires being able to create real trusting relationships. I’m proud to call our customers, our family,” Dodson added. “Our Brightway office and the realty office will be next door to each other to help make the home buying process as seamless and productive as possible.” Brightway, The Dodson Agency will provide services directly to El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento and Nevada County, as well as to customers across the state.

Brightway, The Andrea Dodson Agency offers customized Home, Flood, Auto, Boat, Condo, Renters, Personal Articles, RV, Motorcycle and Umbrella insurance policies from numerous insurance companies. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (PST) and Saturday/Sunday by appointment. Visit them at their office at 7308 State Highway 49, Suite E2, in Lotus, online at BrightwayAndreaDodson.com or call 530-883-8866.

Brightway’s corporate office staff provides expertise and support in areas including customer service, technology, accounting, marketing, distribution and business analytics. In addition, Brightway handles carrier relations and appointments, as well as support with personnel hiring, licensing, onboarding, training and retention.
