Cooking up success in the business world is all about timing and using the right ingredients. For one former Austin chef, it’s a special ingredient four decades in the making that has inspired a brand-new recipe.

Justin Glenn and his fiancée, Jessica Wright, met nearly forty years ago in a Canyon Lake elementary school. This Monday, the two Austin business pros will open their own five-star experience when they unveil Brightway, The Glenn Family Agency.

The children of successful business owners, Glenn, 47, and Wright, 48, began their professional journeys in the culinary and real estate worlds, respectively. Glenn, a former Chef at Whole Foods, and Wright, a commercial real estate professional with title insurance experience, will offer individual and commercial insurance coverage through their new Brodie Lane storefront.

“We have a passion for teaching others and getting things right,” Glenn said of their new partnership.

“And, for me, it was also a little bit of timing, too.” A medical condition forced the formally trained culinary artist to move to a career that would keep the Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts alum off of his feet more than a life in the kitchen would allow. Glenn then made the decision to learn the ins and outs of the insurance industry as an agent. It was that experience that helped Glenn decide that he and his fiancée could cook up success with their very own agency.

With more than twenty years of experience in real estate, Wright knew this was the next logical step for the entrepreneurial Austinites. “I started working in the accounting office of a commercial real estate firm when I was 19,” Wright said. “Today, I work for a national insurance underwriter helping title and real estate agents better market themselves through continuing education.”

Although it has been nearly 30 years since their last high school courses together, this Lone Star State couple reunited decades later via social media. And much like pairing the right wine with the right dish, Glenn and Wright are a tasty recipe for success that will be a must for their neighbors and businesses in their community.
