A South Florida family with deep business ties here and abroad is launching South Miami’s newest franchise this Tuesday. John Lopez (Son-In-Law) and Johnny Dilan (Father-In-Law) are opening the doors on the new Brightway, The Lionshead Agency insurance office next week.
With more than two decades of industry experience, Lopez is expanding his enterprise with the new Southwest 57th Court venture. “We started as a mortgage lending company, then we added a real estate brokerage and then a construction management company all in the past 20 years,” Lopez said. “Bringing my father-in-law in to put his experience to work really adds a world-class touch.”
Dilan has spent most of his career serving in business management and business consultation for brands here in the States and overseas. The U.S. Army vet’s daughter has been married to Lopez for the past 11 years. “You want your work environment to feel like a home away from home,” Dilan said.
“Well, we are lucky enough to have the background to grow such a business in an environment that truly is a family.”
Lopez, 50, holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in business with a concentration in finance from Nova Southeastern University. Dilan, 63, served six years in the military and spent a career advising corporate administrators around the world on the best practices to market their products. “Johnny is a great fit for our office to work one-on-one with our customers with his global experience,” Lopez added. “Our enterprise has grown so much here in South Miami that having the right people in place to truly help our neighbors is a priority. This family dynamic does just that for us.”
When it comes to business, keeping it in the family was something that had already been in practice for decades. Lopez’ mother is also a property manager and accountant for Brightway, The Lionshead Agency’s sister companies in South Miami.
