A hope to live free in the United States has led to a true American Dream becoming a reality next week in Naples. South Florida business pro Leyanis Gaspar will open the doors on her brand new Brightway, The Gaspar Family Agency insurance office on Monday.
It was just two decades ago when a 22-year-old newlywed and her husband made their way stateside from the shores of Havana, Cuba. After starting their family, it would be a friend from Cuba who would turn Gaspar to the career that has changed her life and thousands of others.
“He told me that I would love doing this for a living, that it was a calling to help people protect what was important to them,” Gaspar said.
After landing her first position in an insurance office 18 years ago, Gaspar never looked back. And, in just a few days, she’ll unveil a venture few back in Cuba could ever dream of. “Being free to do anything, especially business, has truly changed our lives.”
After gathering nearly two decades of insurance expertise in the Sunshine State, Gaspar knows the importance of seeing the newest venture on the Paradise Coast open its doors. “Helping these folks who went through so much last year with Ian is truly important work to me,” Gaspar said. It was almost one year ago when Hurricane Ian made landfall near Naples. The deadliest storm to strike Florida in nearly a century ultimately claimed 161 lives and racked up more than $113 billion in damages.
One year later, Gaspar and her new agency will be helping others prepare for the next Ian. Today, the 43-year-old business owner and her husband, Amaury, reside in Naples with their two children.
